Centenarian
Do you know what a 100 year old person is called? A centenarian! And evidently you have to reach 110 to be a supercentenarian. (Although I think Gramma is super already!)

Birthday Dinner

I just didn’t get far enough to make bread. My sister to the rescue! She and my mom pick up lots of loose ends when it comes to caring for my Gramma. It takes a village!
My uncle brought a yummy jar of strawberry rhubarb jam he bought at the farmer’s market this week from Wheeler Family Farm, LLC. It was the hit of the party!

Gramma got her peanut butter and jelly on homemade bread for supper. She enjoyed every bite!
Blue Zone
Gramma’s seniority has raised many questions about her secret to long life.
She naturally checks off The Power 9 as described by the Blue Zone studies. There is one blue zone in the United States, although it is not in the Midwest (yet!).
The Power 9
- Making movement a natural part of your day
- Knowing your sense of purpose
- Prioritizing stress relief
- Eating until you’re about 80% full
- Eating a largely plant-based diet
- Drinking alcohol in moderation
- Connecting with your community
- Putting family (whether biological or chosen) first
- Choosing social circles that support healthy behaviors
Post Script
After the countdown, then what? There may be “radio silence” for a week or two, but I think this will continue in one form or another. But certainly not 10 blogs in 10 days with no prep!

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light: (1 Peter 2:9 KJV)
